Themepark with no people!!

My mate and I were tipped off on a contest that was running in this Themepark that is really close to our work. So he and I organized and headed down to take some pics.

The suprising thing about this night was the lack of people around the themepark. Well....given that it was late and it had just been raining I guess these would be the main reasons.

Anyway this is the first of a series of illumination pictures from Laqua Themepark in Suidobashi's Kourakuen!!

@Darren Halliday: Yeah mate you should see the margaritas at this place they're huge. I wanted to take a photo of it but it wouldn't fit in frame...even with my wide angle!! You should go!!

Did you do multiple exposures and compile them in photoshop?

@Dan: Actually I just took this with one shot...so far I havent edited any of my photos with photoshop. I just mess with the levels especially the saturation. I just opened up my apeture and had a 4 second shutter speed...oh I also used a remote to take the picture so I guess thats why it was so unbelievably clear. That's another tip I got from mates..."don't touch the shutter button on night shots, use a remote or timer". Hope that answers your question.

@Michael Zhang: Thanks mate. Actually there was this one bloody guy smoking to the right of frame...He was slowly creeping over into frame too. I was lucky to snap this one before it was too late.

@Laurie: Yeah you'd be suprised how spotless Japans Theme parks are. There are always cleaners doing their jobs here. It's a very different culture.

I love the angle you picked here. It really shows off everything well. I also love all the brilliant colours here.

I've heard that there's a handful of amusement parks in Japan that get next to no traffic, to the point that they don't last long. I wonder if this is one of them?

@Blain: I doubt this place will close down...this theme park is part of Tokyo Dome where they usually have all the big events. It's got the money to just keep it there for show.

Ah. LaQua and their 'Illumination' display. It's like they handed the decorating over to their retard cousin. Being able to get a nice foto from that mess is commendable.

@Martin: Many many many many hours on photo shop mate!!! Haha only joking...it'd been raining that day so there was no one in the theme park.
