LonelyPosted by Kelly Photography (Tokyo, Japan) on 3 December 2006 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. I was setting up this picture to take photos of this beautiful empty garden when out of no where this lady in a full traditional get up pops out stage left. It was amazing so I snapped a couple of shots of her. She looks so lonely in such a big white rock garden. I just had to post this to let you all see. Enjoy!!!

Evelyn from New Milford, United StatesNice spot of color! Congrats on the publication. 3 Dec 2006 6:37am @Evelyn: Thank you very much on the congrats...but it wasn't anything too big just a free magazine. I didn't get paid for it or nothing. Thanks for popping by. Darren from Tokyo, JapanNice one mate. Did you get one of her closer up? She almost looks like a little girl. 3 Dec 2006 12:39pm @Darren: No close up she kinda just wisked through this picture. I could zoom in on her if you want and post that another time. I think she was kinda little but not young. We are living in Japan I guess. Ryan Yam from Quezon City, PhilippinesThe way you framed her really does give it that lonely look. However it also feels peaceful to me. Great moment to capture. 3 Dec 2006 1:45pm @Ryan Yam: I agree with you...I think being lonely sometimes is the best way to find peace. That's not to say I don't need friends but sometimes you just have to be alone. Thanks for your comment. Michael Zhang from New York City, United StatesThis goes to show that a portrait doesnt have to be 200mm in a subject's face. This is a great environmental portrait that gets your point across. Cheers! 3 Dec 2006 1:54pm @Michael Zhang: THanks for your comment...it was a fluke shot especailly having her walk across it. Actually at one stage when she was out of frame she caught me taking photos and ran really fast. She probably thought she was getting in the way of my photo. Little does she know she's internet famous now!!! Haha. Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, Japanyeah, this is great. love the vastness of the environment with the solitary figure. it has an almost dreamlike quality. 3 Dec 2006 2:54pm @Duncan Galbraith: Thanks mate!! I thought that too. She almost looks superimposed in that picture. I thought people would like it since she's so colourful compared to the rest of the natural environment. Thanks for your visit. Still from VALENCE, FranceThe red spot of the skirt catches my eyes. Nice composition! 3 Dec 2006 4:21pm @Still: Thanks, I was suprised with the shot too...her red is a huge contrast to the environment. @Kelvin Chan: Thanks mate!! Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaVery beautiful and serene image. I really like it. I wouldn't say no to cropping a bit off the bottom, say up to the base of the tree. 3 Dec 2006 5:35pm @Damon Schreiber: Thanks for your help...I actually tried to crop it and it does look much better. I'm going to do it for my printed portfolio. Thanks for your visit. Tim from Bratislava, SlovakiaThis lady seems so unreal... beautiful shot, without any doubt ! 3 Dec 2006 7:25pm @Tim: THank you very much!! I was very lucky to get this shot. @Craig Persel: Domo arigatou gozaimasu...come again please. Julia from Vancouver, CanadaBeautiful! It's like a painting. I like the contrast of the white ground and the red dress, but maybe it would have been better without those roots of the the tree in the forground 3 Dec 2006 10:34pm @Julia: Yeah you're right I messed around with it and cropping the roots actually gave more of an effect on the lady. Thanks for the great advice. @badala: Thanks mate! Ben from New York City, United StatesGreat pic, the little spot of red in this otherwise somewhat depressing environment makes the picture. What if you zoomed in, will she be focused? I would try to crop the picture and zoom in on her more to see if I would get anything interesting. 4 Dec 2006 12:30am @Ben: Yeah I took this advice and it does look better. Luckily she's in focus!!! whoo hoo but needs some serious sharpening. Thanks for the visit and the advice. @Dileep: Thanks mate!! I'm glad you like it. Shadow Mountains from JapanWow! Looked at this for ages. This is a great great shot! 4 Dec 2006 2:36am @Shadow Mountains: Thank you very much...Looking forward to some of your new stuff mate!! zahra from United Statesbeautiful...the tree in front will make a great picture on its own too! 4 Dec 2006 3:41am @zahra: Thanks mate...loved your "gringo's" restaurant sign.
