Fuji-San IIPosted by Kelly Photography (Tokyo, Japan) on 11 December 2006 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. This is another picture of Mt. Fuji but from a different place. Yesterday's was from Kawaguchi-ko (lake) which was one of the great lakes formed when Fuji erupted. This was taken from Hakone which is pretty close to Mt Fuji as well but just from a different angle and a different season. Enjoy everyone!! Tell me what you think.

claireg from United StatesWOW! Another place i 'll have to visited! 11 Dec 2006 8:34am @claireg: Thank you very much for your comment. I recommend visiting Japan just for Mt Fuji!! It's breathtaking!! Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaA great scene, I like how there's interesting details in the foreground as well as the dominant Mt. Fuji in the back. I think you've done well with the lighting here as it would have been pretty easy to overexpose the sky or underexpose the foreground. Excellent take! 11 Dec 2006 11:27am @Chris Sullivan: Yeah, gotta love the shadow highlight tool!! I had to mess around with this photo a bit to get the lighting right. But you should've seen the real thing it was gorgeous!! Thanks for your visit mate!! Darren from JapanNice shot mate. I've never seen this one. Really nice composition. 11 Dec 2006 12:20pm @Darren: Yeah this was a shot from my Sony Cybershot soooo I didn't think it was really good. But I'm glad other people think so. Yay!! Stu from Kyoto, Japanthis was your old camera!!!? Your EOS is in good hands mate. What an absolute stunner! 11 Dec 2006 1:11pm @Stu: Thanks mate!! I thought your pics lately have been fantastic too!! You're certainly getting your moneys worth out of your camera. I bet you're not feeling the pinch of buying it now!!! Hahaha. Thanks for your visit mate!! @badala: Thanks mate, thanks for your visit. Shadow Mountains from Kyoto, JapanYeah! This is very very good. A very inspiring shot!! 11 Dec 2006 1:24pm @Shadow Mountains: Thank you very much. Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, JapanNow this is very very good. compostionally its marvellous with the 3 different horizons proving interesting by themselves. The cloud layer behind that 3rd horizon before you hit Fuji-san itself gives everything a great sense of scale. Great shot. Looks like the gates to mordor are just over that hill there, watch out for orcs! 11 Dec 2006 4:14pm @Duncan Galbraith: Haha, yeah Japan's "outback" is pretty intimidating sometimes and there are many things to watch out for such as earthquakes and tsunamis but there are beauties that are not found in any other place on the planet. I hope I've given everyone a taste of what Japan looks like. @Jenny: Thanks mate!! Thanks for your visit. Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaWow, also beautiful, but in a very different way. This one is less dynamic, but has more serenity from the smooth tones. I envy you; whenever I've been past Fuji (not very often) it's been either hidden by clouds or nighttime. Someday I'll see it. 11 Dec 2006 6:50pm @Damon Schreiber: haha, yeah Mt Fuji is hit an miss mate...Suprisingly I've been 4 times and all times have been ok. Maybe you should come with me!! haha. Better luck in the future with Fujisan. Thanks for your visit!! I like your idea of imitating other photograpers and putting yourself into the pictures too!! Aaron Schmidt from Auckland, New ZealandExcellent layering ... this is just beautiful. 11 Dec 2006 7:20pm @Aaron Schmidt: Thank you very much...Thanks for visiting. @max weir: Thanks mate...I'm glad you enjoyed it. Welcome to my site. mbettik from America, United StatesGreat shot! 11 Dec 2006 9:32pm @mbettik: Thank you very much. I was hoping the foreground would lead you too the massive and overpowering site of Mt Fuji!! I wish you could see this in real life...it's breath taking!! Mammoth in Chief from Naperville, United StatesBeautiful composition on this one! Great shot! 12 Dec 2006 1:32am Angry Buddha from United StatesYou must travel a lot.
