No he's not really on fire...it's just a really blurred picture of a Kabuki actor doing his stuff. I thought I'd try and be a little artistic about this picture. It's my first time with something like this so please be gentle with the critique.
Oh this was taken inside a museum in Kawagoe which still has an old town which dates back to the Edo period. It's in Saitama just north of Tokyo!!

glad to see the eos back in action mate. now this is an eye-catching pic! i thought the poor guy was on fire till i read the caption!! re duncan's previous comment about Mordor, this could be the Balrog of Morgoth doing his stuff!! the screen in the background gives a lovely warm glow to the scene, and the taico drum looks like a spot light. Keep on experimenting with the artistic theme mate!

@Stu: Yeah I thought I'd scare people a little just to give the added effect of the picture. Obviously he's not on fire...I'm not that Sadistic or is it Masochistic??? Bah I can't remember or spell for that matter. Anyway thanks for the visit mate. I'll keep experimenting in Melbourne since I'm going home for a holiday tomorrow. Merry Xmas mate and have a smashing New Year
I like the style.

@badala: Thanks mate!!
Great shot, you've captured the moment well with motion blur. Cool colours too, great shot mate.

@emarquetti: Haha, I'm glad you liked it!! Thanks for your visit.
Nice capture and a pity about the motion blur (not the actor's, everything else's) but it's very difficult to get around in these low-light/no flash/ no tripod situations. I has a similar experience with a Noh play once. I'd suggest in this case, you could have gone with a faster shutter speed and eliminated it to a large degree, though at the expense of some of the actor's motion.

@Damon Schreiber: Yeah I know, the motion blur sucks bum. I wanted to crop all the taiko drummers out but I though that would take away from the picture. Tripods recently are my new best friends.
Great shot mate. Very dramatic! The thumbnail on the community page had me worried for that dude. You're efinetly broadening your horizons here, a wide range of 'genres' getting attention. something I ned to do more of.

@Duncan Galbraith: You're doing well with your own work mate...I reckon stick to your guns a little longer with the portraits. Not to say you shouldn't try anything new because I know you've certainly inspired me to take more people shots!!
I like the blurred out part... Really shows movement!
