Natural framing

To all of you who visited my site regularly this is a big THANK YOU to all of you. I can't believe I was still getting an average of 6 comments a day thanks to those who visited. You're advice and visits have made me wanna keep taking photos.

I'm back from my trip to Oz and it'll be a little while before I get all of the photos in order and start posting them...so for now you'll all have to settle for stockpiled ones.

This was a picture taken in Shinjuku on an exceptionally clear Tokyo day which is quite rare.

wow.. this is great framing... the 2 buidlings on either side seem so different yet they fit in so well.. love the colours youve captured.. nice one!

@benjamin: Thank you very much mate. I owe the differences to the Japanese city planning. However you'll be suprised how messy Shinjuku really looks. But on camera the city looks marvellous.

Hey, welcome back! (to your seat in front of the old computer). Looking forward to your pictures of the trip. This is a lovely image, and I think you are right to consider cropping it. For me, it works really well if you crop to just above the shadowed building in the foreground but leave the trees - adds a certain mystique that's absent in this version.

I don't like the framing. nothing really captures my attention more than the other because they're all so captivating. The things on the bottom bothers me because it takes away from the beauty of the buildings on top. with that said, the picture is full of contrast and the buildings and the lines are so crisp and clear with wisps of clouds between them. the colors are bold and big. goddamn it's pretty. just take away the trees and the fence thing on the bottom.

It's a great photo, but as you mention I'd tend to crop some of the foereground. The buidlings have a natural visual hierachy which creates good visual tension. A very powerful photograph

Hey Kelly. The clarity and sharpness of the shot is great. The colours are as always beautifully treated. As for the crop, I tend to agree with the above ideas, its the railing which is most distracting for me, I think it would work much better with a tilted shot if you want to retain that foreground detail and have the railing running horizontally along the bottom. Personally though, I'd crop it out. The foreground has enough detail to be distracting but not enough to illustrate effectively what it is Im looking at. I'm guessing its a subway walk down but thats a guess. The human element in the shot gives it scale but the railing cutting her head in two (ouch) lessens his/her impact considerably.
