However cheesy the title this photo makes me want to go out and boogie. Though winter may bring on colds and flu, freezing temperatures and cloudy gray nights it also brings the joy of clarity.
This night was so unbelievably clear and if the bloody water would just be as calm as the night sky this picture would have been much better. I also like it because the shadow shape the trees make on the right look like a mouth drinking up the water and the city.
This one is for Duncs for the comment on my night photos. THanks mate.

Nice shot there, you really do take nice night photo's. The reflections in the water actually look like senkohanabi mate. Looks like a seen when I was coming home this morning after a long night out mate. :-)

@Darren: Yeah we have to make time and go to this place again. It's got mad photo ops here.
I especially like the reflection on the water,makes the whole photo looks amazing !

@Kheoh Yee Wei: Wow thanks for that, I'm really unhappy with the water relection. Just once I'd like to take a picture of a place with a placid lake and fantastic reflection!!
Beautiful reflection. Great shot.

@badala: Thanks mate...I enjoyed your tram and taxi picture today as well.
sublime night work. The 'face' to the right is a great touch. Now you pointed it out I keep scrolling up for another look and it keeps on making me smile. Personally I love the water and the fact that its moving doesnt bother me a jot.

@Duncan Galbraith: Really like I said before the water really bothers me. Maybe one day when there is absolutely nothing moving in the air I'll be able to get still reflection. Looking forward to your next picture mate!!
Really glad you pointed out that face on the right. It's so surreal and a nice twist to an already great night shot. Very nicely done. How do you decide on the length of exposure and ISO setting? Is it trial and error or is there a 'right' way to do it?

@Stu: Thanks I thought people would like the humour with the shadow looking like a face. I emailed you what I do with my night shots. I hope you got it.
another great night shot...

@Still: Arigatou gozaimasu.
The photo is wonderful. I was out last night in the downtown along the river and saw very similar reflections as well. If you are interested, check out my first reflection photo "Sunday Reflection" from 12-21-06. It's from the day, not the night. But nevertheless it has the type of reflection I think you were looking for. I also agree with everyone else about the face. Great shot!

@Dan Meyers: Yeah you're absolutely right that's the kind of picture I'm dying to call my own. Fantastic take buddy.
Excellent shot mate, your right about the trees on the right. It would have been cool if the water was completely still, but the ripple adds more to the nights vibrancy and movement. Nice work as always

@Chris Sullivan: Thanks for the comments mate. How are the bush fires over there. There was one day I was there where melbourne was just blanketed with smoke...great pictures that day. I hope you're not on stage 4 restrictions yet.
Marvelous reflections.

@Mammoth in Chief: Thanks mate.
Love your night shots! May I have the recipe too? :) BTW, I'm trying to match the reflection (i.e. light reflection) with what's above the water ... but they don't seem to match. How did you do that?
