Recently I just arrived back from Australia and having taken so many bloody photos I thought it was time to start my first series. I thought I'd start off with something people have been telling me I'm pretty good at and that is "night shots"
I took this particular photo on the Gold Coast in Queensland on an avenue called "Caville Avenue" (I think that's how you spell it).
As you can probably see I left the shutter open for quite a while thus getting the star effect. I messed around with the shadows and sharpened it up. But having reviewed my settings I stuffed it up with the ISO as you can see it was on 800. I should have put it down a to 400. Anyway if you don't mind the noise it's an interesting picture.
If you can please give me your thoughts about this picture.

@Stu: Thanks mate, I'm looking forward to posting all my night shots. How are you're night shots going with the new tripod and all. I'm looking forward to seeing it aswell. I would really like to take a photo of the Kyoto tower at night. I reckon that'd be a top shot mate!!
It's really a great shot. The lights almost seem to be twinkling, nice work.

@Jen: Thanks mate, the lights were just lights to the naked eye. You could imagine my suprise when I saw it on my LCD after I took the photo. No specail star filter was used to create this.
I don't see any noise. Maybe if it was blown up a lot larger. I love the star effect in the lights. Great shot!

@Still: Most people can't see the noise but on my screen I can see it. I guess the picture is small enough not to see the noise. I'm glad no one can see it.
