Melbourne's second tallest building

When I took this photo it looked really good in my mind...I'm not sure what I was trying to do but I don't think it really turned out the way I wanted.

Should I crop a bit more of the sky out or leave it in??

Anyway this is the view from the Crown Casino in Melbourne. That river is the Yarra and if you follow it all the way down to the right of the picture you will go past the Tennis Center which is where they're playing the Austrlaian Open right now....and I'm missing out on it.

Anyway please help me with this picture if there is any advice feel free to write it down for me.

I really like this picture but understand your feelings about it, Kelly. I like the gradient of colour in the sky so I'd consider leaving it in. It's the bottom I'd try cropping. The wall is a good feature but might be a little too big and for me, seems to dominate the building kind of. I don't know though, that's just my personal feeling. What do you think?
Other than that it's top-notch I reckon. The colours are great, and that bridge leads the eye nicely to the building, which is really nicely positioned. Crackin' shot.

@Stu: You're right mate I'll try cropping more the foreground out. It's just not working for me this picture. Maybe I should have posted something else. But thanks for the advice and I'll give it a go.

I'd leave the sky, but that's just me. This looks like a great place to visit.

Great shot, really good colour, you got the time of night perfect.
I tend to agree with Stu, assuming that the Rialto is your main focus, the ledge at the bottom leads your eyes to the left and away from the Rialto. In an ideal situation I think it would be better if you could get closer to the bridge and use that to lead towards the Rialto. OF course you could crop the ledge out as is , but you would be loosing a big chunk of your pixels.

Great job! but I agree with the rest in cutting out the foreground...In my mind a cityscape should ideal be focused from the bottom of the building and upwards but not before then...also another good view would be from sofitel's 34 or 32 (I forget which)'s toliets...you might look strange with a camera in the gents but the nightscape is brilliant.

I believe the sky is not the problem, it is beautiful and goes well with the building, from my point of view the bottom of the shot is distracting, the wall is kinda big. I think it was a nice try to suggest the line of the wall directing to the brigde and then the bridge taking you to the building, would have like to see more lighting reflections on the water. Besides that Its a great shot!
