I caught this raptor just as the trainer was throwing some pieces of chicken neck into the air. This bird like most eagles have a keen sense of sight. The chicken neck piece was no bigger than the tip of my thumb but it was able to see it...grab it with one claw and eat it without even landing.
It was hard to follow and trying to get it with food in it's mouth was bloody difficult. This was the best I could muster up.
I realise that it's not fully in frame but I hope you all can forgive me...he was going pretty damn fast.
Enjoy.

@H.O: Thanks mate.
it is amazing that a color blind person captures nature so well, well done once more for a great shot

@Dimitrios: Haha yeah even colour blind people get lucky sometimes. I wish I got lucky more though. Thanks for your visit...you're always welcome mate.
The bird capture is great. I like it a lot.

@badala: Thanks mate...I'm very happy you liked it.
I love your series. All of them are great, but this is my favourite so far!

@Yvon: Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoy the series. Unfortunately tomorrow will be the end of the series so I hope you like it. If you like raptors then please visit again tomorrow. But this is part 1 of a 2 part series which will continue in the near future.
FANTASTIC capture! Superb image!

@Jerry: Thanks mate.
Beautiful bird and beautiful shot! I think the framing is perfect!

@Jen: Thanks mate this gives me confidence.
Awesome photo! I think the framing is just fine. Don't be so hard on yourself dear! This could not of been an easy capture!
The focal point of the photo to me is the food in the birds mouth not the tips of the wings. So a full frame shot of the bird doesn't matter that much. (Just my opinion) :D

@seventhray: Thanks for the vote of confidence...I really appreciate it. I'm glad the focal point is the food. Thanks for your visit.
Hats off indeed! Tried doing this down by the river in Kyoto...didn't work. I gave up! Understand totally how quickly these move. A great capture. (Highly envious indeed!)

@Untitled: No need to be envious mate especially from you. Thank you very much for the kind words.
I'll forgive you, but just for this time. Keep this series going. I love it!

@Angry Buddha: Thanks for the encouragement mate. I'd love to keep it going but it is part 1 I guess you 'll just have to stay tuned for part 2 in the near future.
Color Blind this is an amazing shot you captured. The framing is perfect too! It isn't as though he is falling off the picture or anything. He looks GREAT. The eagles have awesome eyesight. The bald eagles here can see a small fish swimming in the water from a thousand feet up, and then dive at terrific speed downwards and catch the fish. PS I tried your suggestions with regards to the boats I posted, and edited it again. Then re-uploaded it and lost all my comments soon as I took the first posted one away. So I answered your questions in a comment on my home page Found your link whilst posting a comment to someone else.

That you even got it into the frame is outstanding. That you got a great photo too...now that's just fantastic! It's such a beautiful creature. This is the best of the series so far =D I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Stunning, the fact he's nt full frame doesnt bother me the slightest. his grace and elegance are superbly realised.
